Cudahy, Wisconsin

This is a map of Cudahy, Wisconsin, where we live. Cudahy's population is approximately 18,500. It's a small suburb of Milwaukee, the largest city in the state of Wisconsin. Our home is only 5 minutes from the shores of Lake Michigan. Phil loves that because he can go fishing as often as he can find the free time to go. There are a few really nice beach areas close to our home as well. Milwaukee is the home of Harley Davidson Motorcycles. The 100th Anniversary of Harley Davidson was held here in the summer of 2003. Milwaukee is also home to Summerfest, the nations largest music festival. There are many other cultural festivals held here such as Irish Fest, German Fest, Festa Italiania. The festivals are held right on the shores of Lake Michigan in downtown Milwaukee and people come from all areas of the globe to attend.

Our Large Family

When Phillip and I combined our families back in 1998. we discovered we had a pretty big brood! Together we had 3 boys and 3 girls. Every time we told people how many children we had, we were often compared to the Brady Bunch. We solved that dilema, thank goodness! ;) We decided to have a child together and were blessed with twins! We get a giggle out of shocking people when they ask how many children we have and we tell them 8! It's not nearly as crazy as it sounds since only 4 of them are still at home. Here is a chronological rundown of our family - you can take a peek at the whole crew on the photo pages that follow:

Phil - 46 yrs old - a.k.a. "Papa"
Renee - 29 yrs old (and holding!) - a.k.a. "Mom"
Russell - 30 yrs old
Luke - 26 yrs old
Matthew - 24 yrs old
Tiffany - 22 yrs old
Briana - 19 yrs old and son-in-law Daniel, age 20 - currently stationed in Kuwait
Ashlee - 18 yrs old
Devlin & Dylan, our twins - 7 yrs old
Pets - Our Lassa Apso named "Woogy", fish (a pet perch rescued by Mom, a pet catfish rescued by the girls, and 3 tropical fishh), 1 hamster named Nibbles that belongs to the twins.

Family Interests and Hobbies

With a family as large as ours, we have quite a few diversified interests.

Phil is an avid fisherman. On Father's Day 2003 we bought him a boat. He would live on the water if he had his way. He's also a very talented woodworker and enjoys building things for the family in our garage. He has his own business and enjoys the freedom of making his own schedule and dictating his own wages.

I've found my niche in family genealogy. I enjoy digging up old records and walking cemeteries - not exactly Phillip's cup of tea but he does enjoy hearing all the stories I uncover. Through my research I even uncovered relatives that Phil never knew he had! Meeting his cousins Jeff and Christine was one of the big highlights of our summer in 2003.

Our older kids are just reaching an age where they're starting out on their own. We see a few interests emerging....

Luke enjoys working on cars when he gets the chance. He also likes to build models and is an excellent sketch artist. He lives 2 short miles away from home and has a very nice girlfriend named Lindsey.

Matt enjoys his job at a hospital in Ohio testing the hearing of young children. Matt is into body building as you will see in his photos on the next few pages. Matt is single but dating a very nice young lady named Kristin. We had the pleasure of meeting her at the McElwee Family Reunion in August of 2003. I think I see plans to make things permanent between Matt and Kristin in the near future.

Russ is an excellent sketch artist and, like Matt, is also into body building. He is residing in Ohio and is still single.

Tiffany is a very typical young woman who enjoys shopping at the mall and dating. She works as a waitress full time. She is currently unattached (that doesn't last long so HURRY!) so if anyone is interested in corresponding with her, send me your e-mail address and I'll pass it along! ;)

Briana is the first of our children to get married. On April 14th, 2006 she married Daniel, a specialist in the Army National Guard. Dan is currently stationed in Kuwait and drives a humvee. We're all anxious for him to return home this summer. They have an apartment less than a mile from our home and we see Briana quite often. Briana works in customer service as a supervisor full-time and she also works as a bartender/waitress once in a while on the weekends.

Ashlee is a senior in high school and a very talented actress - well, at least in high school plays! Her performance in her school play was outstanding! She had one of two leading roles and totally impressed the whole family. Some day she's going to hit it big in Hollywood and give her aging parents a cushy retirement! Break a leg, Ashlee! She's also an honor roll student (high honor roll I might add!) who ranks 12th out of 251 students in her class and finished this year with a 3.83GPA and perfect attendance for the last 4 years of school! Ashlee enjoys video games, movies and shopping at the mall with her best friend, Kayla. She just started dating a  young man named Luke, who we have yet to meet. Ashlee's very particular about her men so I'm sure we'll approve when we finally meet Luke.

Our twins, Devlin & Dylan, are in second grade this year. Wow! It's hard to believe our babies have grown so fast! The boys may be twins but their personalities are as different as night and day.
Devlin, who is older by one minute, is very flamboyant and always strives to be the center of attention. His poor teacher! He enjoys interacting with people and is extremely intuitive and intelligent. He doesn't miss much! He's loves to tease his twin brother but he is also very protective and takes good care of Dylan.
Dylan is our quiet one. He enjoys the company of other children but can just as easily play for hours on his own. He's very good with electronics and enjoys playing video games and building things with his Duplo's. He's very sweet and devoted to his twin brother.
